Personality & Traits

General Overview Chloe is bold, spirited, and unapologetically herself. Witty, flirtatious, and often laced with sarcasm, she disarms others quickly—sometimes to draw them in, other times to keep them at bay. She reads people with unnerving precision and often shifts the mood with a look, a teasing comment, or a well-timed grin. Her flirtatiousness isn’t always romantic—often it’s a performance, a means of reclaiming control in interactions where she once had none. Beneath the charm and bite is a woman who’s learned to survive by staying ahead of the emotional game. She doesn’t let her guard down easily, but for those rare few who get past her walls, she’s fiercely loyal and unexpectedly vulnerable.
Strengths & Weaknesses Chloe is observant, quick-witted, and emotionally agile—able to read a room in seconds and adapt her behaviour accordingly. She uses humour and flirtation to defuse tension or deflect attention, often taking control of social situations before others realise what’s happening. She thrives under pressure and rarely loses composure in public, especially in the haven of her bar. However, beneath that surface confidence is a deep-seated need to protect herself. Her distrust of authority, rooted in early trauma, and her tendency to avoid true vulnerability often leave her isolated. While she appears confident, her flirtatiousness and bravado often mask a fear of abandonment, and her impulsive streak sometimes leads her into trouble she’d rather have avoided.
Ambitions To keep under the radar and remain hidden from her father's prying eyes.
Hobbies & Interests Chloe is passionate about mixology and food culture, often recreating dishes from her mother’s old recipes or inventing new cocktails inspired by her patrons’ stories. She enjoys manipulating a room’s energy—playing music, adjusting lighting, and reading the crowd like a stage. She finds comfort in the rhythm of the bar, and while her outgoing nature suggests she’s a social butterfly, there’s a calculated edge to her charm. Her flirtation, often mistaken as mere playfulness, is one of her oldest habits—part distraction, part defence. She sketches in her spare time, mostly tattoo designs, and finds solace in old Earth music—particularly Spanish ballads that remind her of her mother.

Personal History Chloe de la Vega was born in Valencia, Spain, the youngest of five siblings—and the only girl. Her early years were filled with warmth and affection, especially from her mother, Selena, who ran the family restaurant. Chloe grew up in the kitchen, flour-dusted and smiling, utterly devoted to the woman she considered her safe harbour. With her father frequently away on Starfleet duty, those years felt like a sanctuary of flavour, music, and maternal love.

That sanctuary shattered each time her father returned.

Gabriel de la Vega was a rigid and traditional man, emotionally distant and slow to affection. He made no secret of his disappointment in having a daughter and, although he was outwardly proud of his children, Chloe bore the brunt of his disapproval. He believed in discipline, strength, and control—values he praised in his sons but resented in her. From an early age, Chloe learned how to navigate his expectations by staying small and quiet—until she couldn't.

In her teens, the disconnect erupted into rebellion. Chloe’s behaviour became increasingly defiant—her once-quiet nature replaced with sharp edges and impulsive decisions. She stayed out late, drank in places she shouldn’t have been allowed into, and fought with anyone who dared try to control her. Her flirtatiousness grew sharper, more strategic—sometimes playful, sometimes pointed—often used to deflect or dominate. What started as adolescent rebellion became a carefully honed armour. Her relationship with her father devolved into shouting matches and cold silences, and eventually, hidden bruises delivered under the guise of ‘discipline’.

Everything changed the night she returned home late—both she and Gabriel had been drinking, and their argument turned vicious. He struck her across the face in front of the entire family. The moment the blow landed, the illusion broke. Blood on her cheek, silence in the room, Chloe walked out the door and never went back.

She was seventeen.

For the next three years, Chloe scraped together a life on the move. With no formal education beyond secondary school and no support system, she relied on instinct, intelligence, and her natural charisma to survive. She worked in diners, freighter messes, and orbital station bars—learning quickly how to manage people, money, and herself. What she lacked in Starfleet credentials, she more than made up for in experience and grit. The bar became her battlefield and her refuge, a place she could control, unlike the home she had fled.

Over time, her talent and attitude earned her a solid reputation among transient workers and junior officers. Eventually, she crossed paths with a retired Starfleet counsellor who saw potential beyond her rough edges. With a word in the right ear, an opportunity opened aboard the USS Pioneer—a chance for stability, structure, and something like purpose.

Chloe accepted a civilian role as bartender and manager of the Pioneer’s main crew lounge, After 11. Though she holds no rank, she runs the venue with a deft hand and natural authority. Far from a fringe outpost, After 11 serves as the ship’s beating heart—where officers decompress, friendships deepen, and tensions are eased over drinks, food, and laughter. Chloe knows every name, every face, and more than a few secrets. Her flirtatious charm remains part of her toolkit, but now it’s layered with confidence, professionalism, and a quiet strength hard-won by survival.

She hasn’t healed—not completely. But aboard the Pioneer, she’s no longer running. She’s built something. And this time, no one gets to take it from her.
