Mission:
Episode 15 - The Evil That Lies Beneath
Location: The Armory - Deck 9 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD004 0800 hrs
Nhi was doing the most boring job ever. Now that her sister is gone, she was stuck cataloging and cleaning the weapons. Hopefully she did pay enough attention to her sister to actually do this right. Perhaps one day she could take over her sister's work on the Pioneer. Somehow she didn't see herself in intelligence, although it does have some interesting features. One of which was Toby.
She was holding a phaser rifle as she looked a little dreamy in front of her. The field work from last mission was quite interesting too. But it wasn't without risk. She sighed and looked at the rifle in in her hands. Security didn't came without its risk. But ultimately, intelligence wasn't without risk either. Its easy to think working behind a desk and computer was a safe bet, but they still served on a ship searing through the fast unknown darkness of space.
Otes had just finished his shift at the med bay. why he found his way to the armory he'll never know. He pressed the chime on the door, he was a little unsettled by the interaction he had the second officer in sick bay, his empathy was all over the place and the only way he could ever get it to focus was to shoot some targets.
Nhi lowered her cloth she was using to clean the phaser with. She turned around as she hear the chime. Normally everyone just waltzed in here. Security wasn't exactly sacred to people. "It's open she called out to the door." She turned back to phaser she was cleaning. She heard the door swish open and turned around to see who came in. She quickly looked over the man with her eyes. "Petty Officer second class Otes Ze. Nurse. How can I help you today?" She dropped the cloth on her work bench and looked down the phaser.
Ja'sol walked in the armory at a brisk pace. " Ensign Hoa, I'll be in my office and....." He looked at the two standing there. " I hope this is something more interesting then the replicator murdering some one's taste buds. Is there anything I should be aware of? " He asked feeling a bit of tension in the air.
Otes had stepped in just in time, the head of security had come in at the right time, he had wanted to blow off some steam on the phase rifles, but hat nagging feeling from his emphatic abilities was calling him to arms " May I borrow a moment of your time Lieutenant?" he asked with a brief smile looking to the young ensign also present.
Ja'sol stopped and looked at the young man. What is it that you wish to speak to me about Petty officer second? " He asked with a slight hint of curiosity in his voice.
"Will you be needing me, sir?" Nhi asked as she put the phaser back in it's case to be put back in the locker. "If not I will get to the rest of the weapons locker.
Otes " I have some security concerns sir and id rather like to speak to you about them" he said with a slight smile as he looked round the armory a little, he hadn't been in there for a long while.
As her boss seemed a bit quiet, Nhi said, "Well, nurse, you probably have to come out with it now, cause no time like the present. And I am very curious about these security concerns now."
" So what are these security matters that you have? " Ja'sol asked. " Is this a matter for privacy or can we discuss them here? " Ja'sol inquired. " You have my attention, So what shall we talk about? "
Jordan strolled into the armory, his expression a mixture of sarcasm and genuine curiosity as he observed the interaction between the others. "Well, look what we've got here," he remarked, his tone laced with amusement. "Seems like a powwow of sorts. Or maybe the beginnings of a clandestine operation?"
He leaned against the nearest wall, folding his arms casually. "Don't mind me, folks. Carry on with your secret plots," he added with a smirk, clearly intrigued by the prospect of a discussion about security matters. "Just remember, if it's a conspiracy, count me in for long beach walks and a good porter."
" Alright, Everyone out of the room now! " Said Ja'sol. He looked ot Jordan. " Doctor, are things really that slow in sickbay? If your looking for clandestine operations or conspiracies, then I would suggest the holo suite at the end of the hallway. "
Once he made sure everyone was out of the room. " Computer seal the armory on my authorization. " He looked at the two visitors from medical, Otes and Jordan. "Gentlemen, either state your business or leave, I don't have time for silly games. " Stated the security chief.
Spencer regarded Ja'sol's stern demeanor with a hint of curiosity, sensing the tension in the air. "I assure you, Lieutenant, there are no games here," he replied, his tone serious as he stepped forward, his hands held up in a placating gesture. "I'm here on a matter of concern, but it's nothing clandestine or trivial. I couldn't help but overhear the mention of security concerns." Spencer paused, his gaze shifting between Ja'sol and Otes. "If there's something that requires attention..."
Ja'sol looked to Spencer. " Yes Doctor if there is a matter that requires security's attention, Then security will investigate it. Now the question I have for both of you is the matter your bringing to my attention something you feel that you can discuss in front of someone else or would you rather discuss it in private? Or are you both here on the same matter? " He asked them both.
Nhi looked from the nurse to the assistant chief medical officer. She put the weapon she was cleaning down. "There is a nurse and a doctor in security. And there is a security concern. I do not see Doctor O'Rourke here. But it doesn't seem likely she would send both her Assistant chief and her nurse here. So if I had to venture a guess. Your security concern is the good doctor herself." She let out a sigh. "God I sound like my sister. Anyways, may I inquire about the well being of the Doctor?"
Ja'sol looked to Nhi. " That would be good to know as well. But in the meantime, shall we all step into the conference room and make ourselves more comfortable while we discuss this matter? "
"Very good, sir, I shall prepare some refreshments." Nhi walked in to the conference and to the replicator. She could be an eager beaver if she wanted to. Also he did say all, so he clearly wanted her there as well. Her curiosity was also pretty great.
Jordan glanced at the others, then back at Ja'sol. "Yes, this is a matter that requires your attention." He nodded towards Nhi. "Your intuition is spot on, Ensign."
Ja'sol walked into the conference room and sat down at the table. Once everyone was in he spoke. " Computer, Conference room DnD mode on my authority, H'ros one. " The computer confirmed the command. " Now that we're secured in here and we won't be disturbed and refreshments upon the table, Please tell me of this concern that you have. " and he listened to what has happened. At the end of the tale, Ja'sol gave out a sigh. "This is troubling and needs to be looked into. Thank you for the information, and now is the time for action." rising from his seat. "Computer end DnD." and strode quickly out of the conference room, abruptly ending the conference.
