Mission: Episode 16 - Silent Cries
Location: Empok Nor War Room
Timeline: MD002 1100 hrs

Alyssa needed to see Jek'Lar. Meeting his doppelganger in the pocket universe shook her. it also made her realize that her feelings for him were as strong as ever. What she didn't know was if they had any future together.

They ran into each other when the Pioneer last docked at the station and spent time reconnecting, but there'd been no communication since. Granted she'd been busy setting up a garden cube and fighting off BIID, which took much of her focus, but she was here now and she needed to see his reaction when she showed up.

To bolster her courage, she dressed in a royal purple sarong with a pair of low-heeled sandals. The only adornment she wore was a black bracelet coiled around her left wrist and a touch of hyacinth perfume. She paused outside the war room and ran her fingers through her hair. Then she took a deep breath, told her butterflies to stop doing a salsa, and walked in.

Jek'Lar had been standing in front of the search grid for hours. He knew that a person could not simply disappear. However, he could find no trace of his predecessor Calvin Quaid. There were some leads here and there but they turned to dead ends in no time at all. He stood and pondered with hand stroking his fu man chu. The sounds of footfalls entering the room disturbed him slightly. "What..." he said with slight amount of anger in his voice. He turned to face the newcomer and when he saw who it was his demeanor changed.

Alyssa was stunning, simply put, and Jek'Lar was not ready for her. Klingons very rarely if ever showed when they were caught unaware, this was just such a moment for him. "Alyssa... come in. I had heard that the Pioneer put in to dock. Welcome home."

She saw the search grid and the name, Calvin Quaid, but didn't notice more than that he was missing. Her attention was caught by the man in front of her. "Thank you. We're here for a few days of shore leave." She stopped in middle of the room. Seeing him again brought memories of the Archimedes into sharp focus--and short-circuited her telepathy. the expression on his face took her breath away--and made her unexpectedly nervous.

"Shore leave is great news. If the reports only tell half the truth then you all deserve it." Jek'Lar pressed the keypad and the screen in front of him went blank. The search for Quaid could wait. Alyssa had his attention now. "Do you have any plans for your stay? Having the Pioneer around will bolster some of the relations that the Captain is having with the Cardassians. But that's political."

"No. I have no plans--except to stay out of the labs while I can. I worked through the last shore leave." If she could call putting together a garden cube work. But it had taken her time and attention while most of the crew played. And she wanted to get away from the ship for a few days.

"Everyone needs time away. Perhaps, if you wish we can have dinner while you are here." Jek'Lar like most Klingons chose their mate and remained with them whether they were together or not. However, he was unsure if Alyssa felt the same way or even wanted a relationship with him again.

"I'd like that." The offer gave her hope that they could continue where they left off the last time she was here. They'd resolved the misunderstanding that kept them apart for so long and she wanted nothing more than to spend her shore leave with him. "When do you go off shift?" She could wander around the promenade if it wasn't going to be too long. Or just find a place to sit and read.

"I have another two hours of data analysis to do. Then I have to send whatever I find to Colonel Tremble. It seems The Cure are going hunting and I have to lay out the map for them." Jek'lar laid out what he was doing without getting too far into it. "Why don't you pick a place on the Promenade and I will meet you there."

"I'll look around and see what I can find. Do you want me to meet you back here, or send you a message with the location?" She was good with either. And she did want to look around the promenade a bit.

"Return in two hours and we can proceed together." A small amount of excitement built up within Jek'Lar. Since they had reunited he had hoped that something would rekindle. He knew this would perhaps be the only chance.

She watched him for a long moment. Her thoughts went back to their first meeting, and their first dinner. He'd dressed in leather and it took her breath away. He still had that affect on her. She smiled. Tonight, she hoped, they could talk. "See you in two hours."
