Mission:
Episode 16 - Silent Cries
Location: Empok Nor/Merrick's Room
Timeline: MD003 0300 hrs
Smoke, the acrid scent of things on fire caused Edmund to cough, trying to clear his lungs. It was a well known memory and nightmare that he suffered from, this included the bitter taste, the taint of circuitry burning. Covering his mouth with a kerchief, Edmund ran through the halls, in search of what,for who? He was dressed in his security uniform, it was scorched and torn.
“Edmund, Edmund help, come help me get these people out!” came the voice of his beloved Vivian.
His feet seemed to grow wings as he ran towards where Vivian was trying to open a door. The door was jammed, screams and cries could be heard over the intercom.
“We’ll get you out, don't worry” he called to them. The bright light of a phaser cutting into the door to release those imprisoned.Red molten metal dripping down to the floor. They were grateful, and fled to somewhere a bit more safe. Then a call came over the combadge, that of engineering needing help, the fire system not turning on. Then the run towards engineering, the discovery of not being able to get in there easily, Vivian scooting into Engineering, through a small opening. Edmund could feel his chest tightening, not being able to breath, his heart feeling pain.
A feeling of a ripple, as he sobbed at the door where his wife died, he heard other cries for help and he ran towards them. He was no longer wearing the uniform of security. It was the uniform of the marines. He was running through a tunnel, the floor on which his boots trod was stone. The earth was shaking,dust filled the air. Edmund coughed, as he followed the cries for help. A narrow opening was seen, he squeezed himself through it. A chamber was found, a small light shone above a circular stone low to the ground. There was movement in the shadows beyond the circle of light, furtive movement that Edmund couldn’t make out.
“Who is there, come out from the shadows so I can see you!” his voice echoing in the chamber, Edmund finding himself standing upon the circular stone.
“Help us!” came the cry from the shadows,
Edmund shielded his eyes in order to try to see what was in the darkness beyond the light.. His eyes widened, catching a glimpse of a humanoid with a large skull like head but not skeletal in nature. One by one these entities came out surrounding him as he stood upon that circular flat rock.
“Help us, save us.” these entities reaching out towards him,coming closer and closer. Edmund turned round and round seeing them reaching out to him.
“How can I help? What do you want me to do?” Edmund pleaded with them.
Their cries for help rose echoing in the chamber, turning into a cacophony of sound. Causing Edmund to cover his ears to try to block out the sound. “Please tell me where you are!” Edmund shouted.
His own shout woke Edmund up, him sitting up drenched in sweat, rapidly looking around. What was he dreaming about? He shivered, feeling cold, feeling rather disturbed and anxious, not remembering his dream.
