Mission: Episode 15 - The Evil That Lies Beneath
Location: Bridge - Deck 1 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD009 0800 hrs

Tyler managed to talk both Vura, Hermia and Kat into letting him out of Sickbay and to check in on the Bridge. He swore that lately it seemed like he had three wives instead of one.

As he walked through the ship to the Bridge his mind wandered to everyone he had let down and hurt while that thing had control of his body. This was especially true with Sof she had not wanted to see or talk to him and requested a temporary relief of duty. Tyler granted the leave as he felt it was the least he could do.

When the turbolift doors opened on the Bridge Tyler found Lachlan in the center seat and the ship at warp and on course to Empok Nor. He smiled as he walked to the command pit. "Well Sergeant Major how does the chair feel?"

"Like it was never meant for me sir." Lachlan replied honestly. He still sported the light bruising from Tyler's strike to his face, he'd not had time to get it properly seen to with all the things going on. Frankly, it wasn't of any importance nor the hardest he's been hit.

Neil rode the lift to the bridge, his mind distracted as he juggled multiple duties. Stepping onto the bridge he noticed Tyler speaking to the COB and he padded closer and said, "Commodore, looks like you escaped the clutches of Cerberus."

Maybe those 3 were like the three headed dog that was meant to guard the Underworld. He never pissed off those in medical professions, always felt that would come back to bite him on the ass if so. In this case there would be 3 bites to contend with and he was happy having had Lachlan take command back the previous day and him now in a slightly reduced command role as XO until Tyler retook his rightful position.

"Indeed. I have been allowed to walk about and regain myself again. I would be lying if I said I did not enjoy the time off. The big issue now is the legal one. Starfleet seems to think I am a traitor. Wonder where they got that idea?" Tyler looked toward Lachlan with a smile and noticed the shiner. "I am sorry about that Lachlan I was not myself, and besides you were trying to take my ship." The first part of his statement was genuine. However, the second part was there to continue his joke.

"If you hit a little harder you would still have it." Lachlan followed the same vein, a joke about the unfortunate situation. "One thing I can't be accused of is a glass jaw." he smirked before holding his hands up. "You are more than welcome to have it back when your good name returns."

"Nothing like a learning exercise," Neil mused. "We haven't done much with the Command team getting incapacitated. On the bright side, I can't pull bridge duty until Fleet finds me. Guess I'll get caught up on paperwork."

"From the reports I am reading it seems that you have done fantastically for your first command. Perhaps we need to send you back for officer training." Tyler said with a broad smile. He knew that Lachlan enjoyed being right where he was. Still Tyler could not resist a joke.

"Is that a threat sir?" Lachlan arched a brow playfully. "I can promise you it is less of a task rounding up and controlling the 100+ enlisted that roam your ships corridors."

Tyler stroked his chin. "Well then perhaps we will meet half way. Warrant Officer it shall be." He laughed and looked around the relatively empty bridge. "Well other than the obvious is there anything to report?"

"No sir." Lachlan responded. "I'll keep her running smoothly until you take the reigns back. Everything aside from the obvious as you put it is all well in hand."

"Well in that case. Since I am relived of duty pending evaluation, and the Major here is missing in action I believe the seat remains yours. After all I have a wife to go see." Tyler said as he practically guffawed.

"I'd never keep you from Mrs Malbrooke... that would be more dangerous than angering General Sobel." Lachlan quipped.

Neil rubbed at the back of his neck, rolled his shoulders and said, "Guess I'll ghost in and get to designing a better mousetrap for Marine country. The gift shop might have to go. I'll be about if a war gets started," he commented and waited for the Commodore to proceed him into the lift.

Tyler made his way to the turbolift and realized that the ship was not only in good hands, he was in good hands as well. "Mr Barr the Bridge is yours."
