It is always said that you can never go home again. For the crew of the Pioneer that seems to not be true. From bonding at the Commodore's ranch in Oklahoma, to seeing family that they have not seen in sometime. This has been a great experience seeing how this crew bonds and spends their off time.

As we get back to doing what the Pioneer does back, I am always amazed by the talent that each of you display. Even when the crew is letting their hair down there is never a loss for learning what they are about. I enjoy reading what we produce more and more each day. So, thank you very much.

So without any gilding the lily and no further ado I give you the one, the only, awards... taps mic... Is thing on?

Sergeant Audie Fitch - Captain's Personal Merit Award - "For the Going Home mission Audie takes the award. It is hard to make yourself noticed on a sim when you are enlisted and yet Audie never ceases to make themselves known. During this mission they also stepped up their participation in the community on the Discord. Little things like this catch my notice. Their writing is always superb with a mixture of levity and suspense with a dash of humor. Really well done. Keep up the great work."

Petty Officer Third Class Emiko Marley - Second Officer's Award of Merit - "It's rare for a player to deliberately write their character making a mistake. Even more rare for that mistake to be potentially fatal. This mission, Emiko let the pressure of collecting data without getting caught get to her and she bobbled a data transfer. That bobble was noticed, and she and Jayna were taken prisoner. While they were rescued, this led to the return of an old member of the Pioneer crew. There will also be a number of future posts to make sure Emiko--and other junior intel operatives--have the training they need to go undercover. A very fortuitous fall."
-Lieutenant Commander Alyssa Maren-

Petty Officer Second Class Sofia Cipriani - Crew's Choice Award - "The storyline involving this person's NPC has been rather intense and immersive. I enjoy reading these posts and seeing how someone is trying to reconcile a different history and lifestyle from the one that they knew and being trapped in the new reality.
-Lieutenant Vura-

"This person has been very helpful to the sim."
-Lieutenant Junior Grade Jack Hunter-

Sergeant Audie Fitch - Character of the Month - "It takes a unique talent to blend a mission plot with your character plot. This is something that Audie does seamlessly. It is for this reason that for April 2026 there is no one more deserving than Audie for this award. It is amazing to learn a little about this character everything the interact with someone. Keep up the great work."

Major Edmund Merrick - Support Character of the Month - "For April 2026 there is no one better suited for this award than Edmund Merrick. Merrick's use of their NPCS had not only made the world of the Pioneer a better place. But, they have also expanded the story into an area that had not been thought of before."
-Commodore Tyler Malbrooke-

crosssim.jpg
Commodore Tyler Malbrooke, Major Edmund Merrick & Lieutenant Colonel Cornelius Tremble - Most Creative Cross Sim Post - "This award is given for the post titled "Middle Game". In this post the CO of The Cure has people on mission and captured. He has an emotionally charged conversation with the USS Valiant's XO and Chief Intelligence Officer. C Tremble wrote as himself in this post. Really well done by all involved. T Malbrooke wrote as Commander Daynah Ral the Valiant's XO. E Merrick wrote as Lieutenant Amy Gordon the Valiant's Intelligence Officer."
-Commodore Tyler Malbrooke-

libraryexcellence.jpg
Maren Malbrooke - Library Excellence Ribbon - "Each of Maren's posts has been excellent. She's abrasive, antagonistic, angry, and scared. All these emotions are difficult to write well. Maren blends them all into an engrossing and illuminating series of posts. The writer is always very good, but with Maren, he brings so much more to her stories. I look forward to her journey, and her eventual arrival to the Pioneer."
-Lieutenant Commander Alyssa Maren-

outstandingvolunteer.jpg
Petty Officer Second Class Sofia Cipriani - Outstanding Volunteer Award - "As a sim gets larger over time it takes more and more work to keep it fresh. Over the past few months they have stepped up their involvement to help keep this sim running. Especially with creating new graphics to keep the look of the site fresh."
-Commodore Tyler Malbrooke-

recruitment.jpg
Lieutenant Commander Alyssa Maren - Recruitment Award - "This award is long overdue for Alyssa. Back in 2023 our Ship's Counselor Vura joined the sim. But only after a little encouragement from Alyssa. Thank you for bringing a formidable writer and a great Counselor to our midst."
-Commodore Tyler Malbrooke-

Lieutenant Junior Grade Jack Hunter - Service Citation Six Months - "Has it been six months already. As it is said time flies when you are having fun. Thanks for joining the Pioneer. Here is to many many more years to come."
-Commodore Tyler Malbrooke-

As we close our shore leave mission and move on to see what is out there I would like us all to reflect of sorts. Reflect upon what we have learned about our characters and about each other. The Pioneer has become more than a game, more than a sim, more than a community. We have become a family.

Thank you for your friendship, your creativity and your energy. I am as always humbled by your faith in the tales that I want to tell. Here is to the coming year.

So mote it be

For Now
Steady As She Goes,
Commodore Tyler Malbrooke
