Mission:
Episode 16 - Silent Cries
Location: Quarters of Hermia O'Rourke - Deck 2 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD001 0100 hrs
Hermia lay in bed asleep.
As she dreamt she found herself standing in a darkened room.
In font of her looking back at her were Vura and Edmund.
As she moved towards them the seemed to move further away from her.
The two people whom she had romantic feelings for but, could not be with.
Vura's biology made it impossible, and she'd agreed with Edmund for her and him to remain friends.
Before her sleeping mind could ponder her messed up love life any farther, her friends disappeared to be replaced by a tall, unknown humanoid dressed in a dark suit.
It didn't speak, but she was overcome by feelings of fear, sadness and loss.
As she watched the figure began to fade away slowly like sand in an hourglass.
Hermia awoke with a start, she'd had a nightmare. Something about Vura and Edmund moving away from her. She had a niggling feeling there was something more, but she couldn't recall what it was.
"Computer, lights." She said. And the room was bathed in light.
She sat up. "Computer, what time is it?" She asked.
"The time is 0407 hours." The familiar feminine voice replied.
Wide awake, Hermia decided it was as good a time as any to start her day as any. Being quiet as not to wake Helena, she began her morning routine.
It was then that Helena stumbled out of her room. "Mum, I had a nightmare."
"Me too baby, what was yours about?"
"I don't know." Helena said shaking her head as if that would bring it back to her.
"I know let's have a hot chocolate." Hermia said. Walking over to the replicator.
"With tiny marshmallows." Helena said.
"Yes." Hermia said with a smile. "Computer two mugs of hot chocolate with tiny marshmallows." Hermia ordered. As soon as the appeared, she brought them to the coffee table, placing one in front of Helena and the other in front of herself.
"Careful, its hot." She said to her daughter.
As they drank they talked about their nightmares, but there was still something at the edge of their minds that they couldn't recall.
