Support Character of the Month

Sim Level Award

This award is selected by the Command Team. It is given to the character who has shown the most support to the story of the Pioneer. This support could be anything from going out on a limb to save everyone to simply saying hi when someone seemed down. This support should be shown through a number of posts. As the title implies this award is given monthly.

Category: In character
Awarded: 26 times

Captain Edmund Merrick
Wed Sep 24th, 2025 @ 9:44am
While most of the crew is tied up in battle the Captain manages to stay ahead of their NPCs. This gives our readers a glance into what life is like aboard the ship while our "heroes" are off being heroic. Well done.
Sergeant Major Lachlan Barr
Tue Aug 26th, 2025 @ 5:22pm
For the month of July Lachlan has turned up the heat with his writing. He has also assisted in creating some new avatars for the sim. Both of those things as well as getting behind the wheel and driving the plot. This month he was a force to be reckoned with behind the scenes.
Lieutenant Vura
Wed Jul 16th, 2025 @ 7:15pm
For June we give this award to our own ship's Counselor for a post that made us all wonder who should counsel the counselor. One can always learn what characters feel about each other through the writing. Getting snippets here and there. However, the Counselor gave us a post where she evaluated each member of the crew. Great work, lets just hope that the crew can't read the posts lol
Lieutenant Commander Brianne Redstone
Sat Jun 21st, 2025 @ 8:36pm
Brianne Redstone is just getting on their feet in the universe of the Pioneer. Switching characters in the middle of a mission can often create problems. However, Redstone managed it with little to no issues. It has been a pleasure to see this character begin to take root and grow. I look forward to seeing where she goes from here. It is for these reasons and more that for the month of May we give this award to Redstone.
Captain Edmund Merrick
Tue May 27th, 2025 @ 6:34pm
Very often in Star Trek you see the bright side, or the good side of service in Starfleet. Rarely do you see what happens when mistakes are made. This month the Captain put themselves out there to show us all how Starfleet deals with discipline. Writing like this is what truly needs to be recognized.
Lieutenant Commander Hermia O'Rourke
Sat Apr 12th, 2025 @ 10:52pm
When the Pioneer was created I decided that it would operate under the "one world concept." That is to say that anything that happens around the ship, on other sims etc can and should efffect the Pioneer and its characters. Hermia has taken this idea to the next level. They have created a ship the USS Carthage that operates in the world of the Pioneer. This ship, its characters and its stories add to the universe that is the USS Pioneer and makes these stories more realistic and believeable. Keep up the great work and thanks for making this one world concept come to fruition.
Lieutenant Kolok
Mon Mar 24th, 2025 @ 7:34pm
For the month of February 2025 this award is given to Kolok. Kolok is the definition of a team player. Always willing to step in and help move the plot along whenever they can. A great writer who helps keep us on track and the mission moving.
Ensign Josie Boone
Sun Feb 16th, 2025 @ 8:45pm
It is wonderful to see the writer behind Josie back in action. We have just scratched the surface of what this fresh faced Ensign can do and now with a Lanthanite to guide her the sky is the limit. Thank you for keeping the realistic, people side of things here on the Pioneer moving. Keep up the great work.
Commodore Tyler Malbrooke
Sun Dec 8th, 2024 @ 1:03am
The rest of the command team has decided that for November the commanding officer is deserving of this award. It is expected for the CO to lead the charge on missions and posting. However, when other players take center stage it can be hard for the CO to take the backseat. During the past month Tyler has stepped back and allowed the rest of the crew to lead the sim and see where they go.
Lieutenant Vura
Thu Oct 24th, 2024 @ 12:45am
One of the best things a support character can do is help others get into the heads of their characters. Throughout September Vura in her position as Counselor has done exactly that. She has allowed people to explore their characters and come to terms with some of the horrible events that these characters have experienced. These character development posts add to the canon of this sim by making the characters more realistic and making it so a reader wants to learn more. Keep up the great work.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Daris Wren
Mon Sep 9th, 2024 @ 11:35pm
For the month of July Wren was the true meaning of support. Daris Wren kept themselves involved in the plot even after their character's "job" was over. They asked questions about what was going on and remained integral to what transpired. This is one of the best examples of supporting the plot.
Sergeant Major Lachlan Barr
Mon Sep 9th, 2024 @ 11:34pm
For August Lachlan as the Chief of the Boat and de facto Commanding Officer showed us the true meaning of support. This latest mission has kept people jumping about and with three of the four command staff messed up, it's good to see Top in there getting the job done. He always has, but it's more evident given the circumstances and recognition is due.
Lieutenant Commander Alyssa Maren
Sat Jun 8th, 2024 @ 8:02pm
For the month of May this award goes to Alyssa Maren. In a relative slow month she was a posting machine out posting the command team. Her posts are always up to par and she moves the story while developing her character in every post she writes with all her characters. Add to that the ideas that she comes up with are very often better than what I had devised for the plot. Thank you for your support to this story and this community. Keep up the great work.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Thex sh'Zoarhi
Thu May 9th, 2024 @ 12:40am
For the month of April Thex has exemplified this award. They have shown to be active in our Discord community participating in conversations and seeking to write posts to further the story. Speaking of posts, I enjoyed the story of Thex's disappearance into the bubble universe. The ending gives the reader a sense of loneliness and foreboding. Nuances such as these really keep the story moving and the world that is the Pioneer colorful. Keep up the great work.
Lieutenant Ja'sol H'ros
Tue Apr 2nd, 2024 @ 6:19pm
For March 2024 I would like to put forth Ja'sol Hros. This is actually for helping with the plot on Poseidon Station. I feel that anyone who can tag and post in the main plot of their sim and involve their character in a plot on another sim is definitely supportive to this community of ours. It is not just the success of the Pioneer that matters, but the success of all sims in this hobby. Thank you Ja'sol for bridging the gap and helping others succeed.
Lieutenant Commander Alyssa Maren
Tue Mar 26th, 2024 @ 12:49am
For February 2024 I would like to award Alyssa Maren with the Support Character of the Month ribbon. Alyssa through the use of her Non Player Characters has consistently pushed one side of the story arc forward. Particularly with the use of Mira Jayna. The character is playing super sleuth as she catches on and catches up on all the goings on aboard ship. Thank you for helping to make this story one for the record book. Keep up the great work.
Lieutenant JG Gage Tohoyia
Wed Jan 17th, 2024 @ 12:44am
For December 2023 Gage Tohoyia is awarded the Support Character of the Month. During December Gage contributed to getting the current mission underway and lent his character to getting a key part of the plot out in the open.
Captain Edmund Merrick
Sat Nov 11th, 2023 @ 9:45pm
Cross sim missions can always be hard. It helps immensely when someone is willing to go the extra mile and engage people to keep things moving. Merrick is just such a person as they reached across the sim lines and made connections between both crews.
Captain Edmund Merrick
Tue Jul 4th, 2023 @ 10:16pm
A cross sim mission can be a hassle for any member of the crew. However, you have taken the idea and ran with it. Not only contributing ideas for posts but making sure that they are written, and coordinating people from both sims to keep things flowing. The Intelligence Department gathering is just one example of what you are doing to support this sim and this mission. Keep up the great work and on behalf of everyone on the Pioneer I think I can say Thank You!
Lieutenant JG Gage Tohoyia
Tue Mar 21st, 2023 @ 8:10pm
Gage gas just joined the ship recently and already he is making his presence known. Gage was a large part of the climax of this story and for that we are indebted for his assistance.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Thex sh'Zoarhi
Thu Feb 9th, 2023 @ 4:25am
During the month of January we saw our Ops Chief step in and bail the Marines collective butts out of a sling. This may seem small but their side plot has allowed the story to flow and build to its climax. Like Data on The Next Generation Thex has started to show that they can be an all around utility player stepping in where and when they may be needed. Thank you for all your hard work and keep up the great work.
Sergeant Major Lachlan Barr
Mon Jan 2nd, 2023 @ 11:58pm
Lachlan has served as the Chief of the Boat for some time now. In that capacity he is one hell of an asset. However, in the past month he has stepped up his support. Making sure the plot moved along when needed and keeping conversation on the Discord going. Thank you for everything that you do.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Rachel Sinclair
Tue Sep 13th, 2022 @ 6:04am
The Ensign just joined the ship and yet their arrival posts were some of the funniest that we have seen. The awkward anxiousness of a new Ensign meeting the Captain is just something I have not seen and in the post you can feel it coming off the page. Thank you for adding a Lower Decks kind of feel to your arrival. Keep up the great work.
Captain Edmund Merrick
Tue May 3rd, 2022 @ 3:21am
For engaging almost everyone in a post as soon as they arrived. Add to that the assistance in connecting some loose plot points behind the scenes. Equals a person well deserving of this award.
Lieutenant Commander Alyssa Maren
Thu Jan 6th, 2022 @ 6:25am
Since taking over at science they have began and/or written a post with almost everyone. This alone shows that they have hit the ground running and are willing to do what it takes to stay involved. Add to that the uptick in activity within the community and you have a recipe for this award. Really well done... Keep up the great work
Lieutenant Commander Hermia O'Rourke
Tue Nov 23rd, 2021 @ 7:23am
This month we decided to go toward the saying hi part of the award description. Hermia is always popping up on the Discord to say just that "Hi". To see how everyone is doing, and sometimes when one is having a horrible day knowing that there is someone who cares out there can go a long way. Not only that but Hermia contributes to a number of posts and runs Sick Bay superbly. So for November everyone should say hi to Hermia and thanks for being there.
